Still a student at Northern State University, Calvin’s search for a job to pay the bills turned into an incredible career. He started as a Sales Partner and is now a Regional Sales Director. Calvin’s story is one of rapid growth, overcoming challenges, and making an impact on the people and markets he has led.
The Beginning of a Rewarding Career
In 2016, I was just looking for a sales job that paid well while exploring other career options. After damaging my phone, I visited a BeMobile store near my school. A 15-minute conversation with the Store Leader convinced me to apply. Everything he shared about BeMobile matched what I was seeking, and I had my first interview just days later.
Discovering Transferable Skills in Sales
That conversation with the Store Leader was the catalyst for my journey. I accepted a Sales Partner position in April 2016 and quickly realized I had more transferable and profitable skills than I imagined. I was paid to help people solve problems with technology, and meet individuals I’d never encounter otherwise. The commission I received allowed me to quit three other part-time jobs that took up more than 60 hours a week. I could now focus entirely on one job and make significantly more income.
The Road to Becoming a District Leader
I didn’t stay in the Sales Partner role for long. Just four months later, I was promoted to Store Leader. My career trajectory didn’t slow down. Although I was turned down for a District Leader role three times in the same year, I remained eager to prove myself. In October 2017, I finally got my chance. The opportunity to lead a District in Wisconsin was life-changing, leading my wife and me to relocate permanently.

Transforming Wisconsin into a Top-Performing Market
In Wisconsin, I was fortunate to work with genuine, thoughtful people who believed in my leadership. Moving two states away from family and living separately from my wife for over a year as she completed Nursing School was challenging. Yet, the team welcomed me with open arms. Together, we transformed the market into one of the top-performing areas in the organization. In 2019, Verizon recognized our success, calling Wisconsin the “gateway to growth” for BeMobile. I couldn’t be prouder of the team that exemplified the best parts of our organization.
Becoming a Regional Sales Director
In December 2020, just five years after starting as a Sales Partner, I received the Regional Sales Director (RSD) role. This position enabled me to influence more people within our organization on a larger scale. Each year in the RSD role presented new challenges and growth opportunities for me and my team. We tackled tasks such as hiring new teams, supporting business acquisitions, and managing district changes, leading us to 2024 and another expansion of locations.

Reflecting on my growth with BeMobile, I see the vital role our Core Values and the people I’ve met have played. I wouldn’t be where I am today without everyone I’ve had the chance to know. Whether they are corporate teammates, sales partners on the frontline, or others in the Region, their impact on me is beyond what I can express.

I have deeply valued being involved in the lives and stories throughout this journey. Whether in professional, financial, or personal contexts, the people I’ve met have had the largest impact on my growth. I’m blessed to witness their success.
